Ole Ravnos was born at the farm Ravnaas/Ravnås in Vennesla, Vest-Agder county on October 12, 1862.[2] His parents were Endre Olsen and Asjer Olsdatter.
In 1865, the family of four lived at Ravnaas.[3] As Ole's father was called Endre, Ole had the patronymic name of Endresen (meaning son of Endre).
At the time of the census, Ole had a younger brother called Ole Andres. This brother was born on Nov. 15, 1864 and baptized as Olaf Andreas. [4]
Ole Ravnaas immigrated in 1883 on board the ship "Hibernian", arriving in Halifax, Canada, on May 8, 1883. He is listed as Ole N. Rovnas in the Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865–1935 on ancestry.com.
In 1900, he worked as a carpenter in Denver, Colorado. (He is listed as Q. Revenos in the US census 1900.) In Denver in about 1902, he married Amelia Norder, an artist born in Sweden in 1866. Around 1905 they settled in Santa Cruz, California. Initially, Ole Ravnos worked as a carpenter and from about 1907 as a photographer. Ole Ravnos died in 1945.
